It’s amazing how much a town can change in one year.
We went to Sapphire North Carolina this weekend to Gorges State Park to go hiking at Rainbow Falls. Since we were there last year, they’ve installed a large parking lot and a trailhead at the bottom of Drift Falls, about a 1.5 mile hike downhill and up to Turtleback falls. The last time we were there, we parked near the church parking lot and hiked down to Turtleback Falls, then down further to Rainbow Falls.
Here are some photos from this past weekend:
We also stopped in Brevard, North Carolina for lunch and Highlands North Carolina for dinner. These are both really great towns worth exploring.
By day three of my Denver trip, my constant on the go pace had finally caught up with me.
After I checked-in to my hotel, I had to muster up the strength to go find lunch. I really just wanted to crash and sleep.

One of the most interesting sights that I found along the way were the pianos that sat out in the open for people to play. There were some very talented homeless people who could really play. It makes me wonder, how did they get into that situation and yet the can play such beautiful music?
I pushed on though, spending most of the morning exploring the 16th street mall, looking for good photo ops.
